3rd Degree Black Belt In Taekwondo - 2019

I started Taekwondo in the Spring of 2019. Though I did not know it at the time, joining Taekwondo altered my life’s direction and purpose because it ignited a series of events that changed the content of my character. However, this was not an easy journey, becoming a 3rd-degree black belt was filled with several trials and tribulations, but it also fostered my character because its teachings guided and influenced my actions and decisions. Taekwondo is not only physically demanding but also requires an unyielding disposition. While training, I learned to embrace the tenets of Taekwondo which are: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Over time of developing physical skills and character, I became confident and dignified.

Along my journey to become a Third Degree Black belt, I was also fortunate enough to become an assistant instructor. As an instructor,  I had the honor to help young children develop the skills and charter that forged me to become who I am today.

Other Awards in Taekwondo include earning my Second Degree Black Belt in 2015, earning my First Degree Black belt in 2014, obtaining a D2 Level  certification for  kyorugi(Sparing) in 2015, and a Poomsa(forms Level 2 referee certification in 2016

In Waguli Lodge, I am one of less than 40 people to earn this great honor in over 75 years of cheerful service.

Eagle Scout - 2018

Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process. The Eagle Scout rank has been earned by over 2.5 million youth.

In 2018 I completed the long and arduous journey to Eagle, but my journey of service is far from over. Looking back at my scouting experience I am truly blown away. In 2005, I started cub scouts as a young and eager tiger scout. From there my life forever changed. Through the moral teachings embedded in the content of my charter from scoutings teachings, I sought to embrace a life guided by the Scout Oath and Law. Furthermore, the opportunities and experiences I have had in scoutings adventure will never be forgotten. I will truly be forever grateful for the memories, experiences, and friends that I have worked with for nearly 15 years.

As I continue to live by the Scout Oath and Law, I bear a solemn obligation to teach and guide those seeking the high and coveted rank of Eagle. I bound to this obligation because I know the impact that scouting has had on my life, so it is only right that I seek to recreate the opportunities that scouting forged for me. In order to fulfill my responsibility I have served in a variety of positions such as the Waguli Lodge Chief and Camp Sidney Dew Area Director for the first-year scoutsCurrently, I serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster for troop 30.

Other Awards in Scouting: Founders Award 2019, Vigil Honor Award 2017, District Scout of Merit 2015.
